[产品来源] 本品为毛茛科植物牡丹（Paeonia moutan Sim.）皮的提取物，原产于中国西部秦岭和大巴山一带山区，为落叶亚灌木。喜凉恶热，宜燥惧湿，*，株型小，株高多在0.5～2米之间；根肉质，粗而长，中心木质化，长度一般在0.5～0.8米，极少数根长度可达2米。　花期4-5月。
